We Went The Extra Mile For Lisa’s Roof
At 314 Roofing, We ALWAYS
Want To Do What’s Right
At 314 Roofing, we have a reputation for being a Houston roofing company that goes above and beyond for our customers. No matter the situation, our goal is always to do what’s right.
Sometimes, that means making a few extra trips to a customer’s home, which was the case for Lisa’s roof.
She was not immediately satisfied with the results of her roof replacement and tried unsuccessfully to reach her 314 Roofing representative. She would later learn that the individual no longer worked with our team when she called the office.
During that call, she was very upset. She had some fascia board that needed to be painted and flashing that the rep was supposed to return to address.
After several follow-up visits to Lisa’s home, we solved all her roofing issues, making her a very satisfied customer.
A Distressed Phone Call
After trying several times to reach her rep, Lisa called our office. Having expected to receive the follow-up care she was promised, she was understandably unhappy over the phone.
First, we explained that her rep had left the company, which was why she was unable to reach him. Then, we verified all the information in her file. The first thing we noticed was a note that she would be the one to paint the fascia board, not us.
Despite this note, Lisa said her rep promised he’d have it taken care of for her, along with the flashing that wasn’t quite right.
Her roofing project was completed around the end of May into the beginning of June 2024, and her call came right after the hurricane hit the Houston area.
At that time, we were inundated with around 2,000 storm damage requests above and beyond our normal workload. We explained the situation to Lisa and said that since she wasn’t at risk for water infiltration, we would get to her as soon as possible.
Around 4–5 weeks later, Lisa called once more and asked to speak with our owner, Andy. He took the time to speak with her and reassure her that we were more than happy to stand behind our work and make it right.
The Second Visit
While Lisa wasn’t thrilled with our response, she was satisfied that we planned to come back to assess the roof.
Our crew arrived at her home and adjusted the flashing. She had also indicated there were moisture problems above the second-story bay window. So, we removed the entire section of the roof to replace it with custom-fabricated metal.
We followed up with Lisa before leaving, noting everything we had completed.
But it wouldn’t be long before we heard from her again. She was still experiencing moisture issues with the bay window on the second floor.
Believing it to be an incorrectly installed roofing component, she wanted us to return and address the problem. So, we made plans to visit her home for a third time. At 314 Roofing, we always go beyond for our customers, even if it means going back again.
The Third And Final Visit
During our last visit to Lisa’s home, we painted all the fascia that she stated the rep promised to address. Then, we got to work finding the source of the moisture issues.
These upstairs windows were quite difficult to get to, which might have been what led to the problem. We thoroughly water-tested the roof and bay window.
In the end, it wasn’t our roof replacement that was causing the moisture issues – it was improperly installed windows. So, while our workmanship wasn’t at fault, we were able to help Lisa identify the problem so she could get the resolution she needed.
At 314 Roofing, we believe in being bold, and sometimes that means tackling uncomfortable situations. No one wants to face an unhappy customer. But we’ll do what it takes to turn it around.
Lisa went from being thoroughly dissatisfied with her 314 Roofing experience to recommending us to friends and family.
